Trust No One: The Hunt For The Crypto King Is Everyone’s New Netflix Obsession

Did he pull of the greatest scam in history?

Is there anything that the Netflix documentary team can’t dig up and create to get us completely obsessed? It is just one crazy story after another and we’re all instantly obsessed. And we never know what the next wild ride is going to be. Right now, though, it’s Trust No One: The Hunt For The Crypto King. What happened to the man who seemed to be the king of cryptocurrency, at least in Canada? It’s still unclear.

Gerry Cotten is the creator of the cryptocurrency company QuadrigaCX. He quickly rose in the crypto world and had become a trusted place for people to go and store their cryptocurrency. He mysteriously dies, taking all of the codes to the thousands of accounts with him. Many think he has faked his own death, some think his wife did it or had something to do with it, and some are truly just baffled by this whole story. What really happened to Cotten? There is really no clear answer.

Some of the people from the documentary are not only crypto experts but they are victims/clients of QuadrigaCX. There is no footprint or any kind of digital path to prove that he is really dead or not and there is no way to find out where everyone’s money is…that’s wild! If Cotten is smart enough to stay off the grid for this long, then these people are never going to see their money. Cotten “disappeared” in 2018 and this is still a story that doesn’t have a clear or known ending. Will there ever be any answers? It’s possible but doesn’t seem probable.

Crypto and true crime documentaries are always going to be big obsessions, especially the more twists and turns there are.
