Fast & Furious saga actress Michelle Rodriguez has recently confirmed that the ninth instalment in the series will go to outer space!

Fast & Furious for the Rumours

Rumours have been circulating for months that Fast & Furious 9 would be leaving the stratosphere for something beyond.

In fact, Ludacris had hinted more than once about the possibility of space scenes over this year, and finally: relief! Fast & Furious saga actress Michelle Rodriguez has discussed the rumours and confirmed: F9 will not all take place on tarmac.

Confirmed Take-Off!

In an interview on Sirius XM’s the Jess Cagle Show, conversation immediately steered towards zero gravity.

The 42 year old actress, who plays Letty Ortiz in the Fast & Furious saga, seemed shocked that they guessed correctly.

“How did you guys find that out?” Rodriguez asked. “See what happens? People start talking behind the scenes, man.”

Beyond the Stratosphere

These space rumours have been ruminating for almost an entire year. Actually, it was Chris Morgan, the writer for F9, to first introduce the galactic dialogue.

Last August the Hollywood Reporter talked with Morgan about the process of writing a Fast and Furious film. Discussing how “you can never go too big”, Morgan then addressed the big question: “Is there going to be a Fast & Furious in space?

Morgan replied: “I will say – what’s the best way to answer this? – you’ll have to wait and see. Listen, as long as the stakes were set up correctly, then I’m down for whatever.”

Chris Morgan has written every Fast & Furious film since the third instalment, Fast & Furious: Tokyo Drift. Trying to top every previous film in the franchise is no easy task; but with F9 set to release in April of 2021, we can only hope those space scenes exceed our wildest expectations.
