Episode 3 of HBO’s adaptation of The Last of Us could be the finest one since it offers a lot of info and raises many questions in its conclusion. The third episode of the series begins with Joel and Ellie escaping Boston while still mourning Tess’s death. The episode shifts its attention to the duo’s last stop, the town of Lincoln, as they travel across the countryside.

The Last of Us on HBO has so far placed more of an emphasis on unhappiness and its associated shadows than it has on hope. The first episode demonstrates how Joel (Pedro Pascal) has become a harsh and aggressive man 20 years after the apocalypse. Episode 2 shows the ruined streets of a city that tends to collapse while seeing the tragedies caused by the cordyceps virus and the human bomb trying to stop the outbreak.

Similar to the first episode, episode 3 opens with Joel and Ellie exploring the barren regions of the post-apocalyptic United States and demonstrating their survival struggles. Joel’s account of military soldiers murdering people in cold blood while carrying out instructions further adds to the darkness.

Additionally, episode 3 reveals Ellie’s inner darkness and demonstrates how she may turn into a killer like Joel. But “Long Long Time” from Episode 3 will go down in history as one of the most heartfelt and beautiful love stories ever. And by focusing on the relationship between Bill (Nick Offerman) and Frank (Murray Bartlett), HBO’s The Last of Us highlighted the model of love and friendship that may be used to rebuild society.
