Netflix’s latest true crime docuseries, Sins of Our Mother, has been getting a lot of attention due to the headline-grabbing nature of the case at its center. Lori Vallow and Chad Daybell have not even gone to trial yet for the many charges against them.

Many people have followed this story since the beginning and remember the news breaking when Lori’s kids were first reported missing. When she was spotted in Hawaii with her spouse Chad Daybell, it seemed weird that she would be there while her kids are MIA.

Sin of Our Mother can only go so far into this case because it’s still pending and will be on trial in early 2023. But they did provide a refresher and summary for those unfamiliar with the case. Cosmopolitan also wrote an in-depth article to provide more context if you need a refresher or summary.

The most interesting addition to the show is Colby Ryan, Lori’s youngest son. He provides background about his mother and their relationship leading up to the tragic murders of JJ and Tylee.

The 49-year-old is currently behind bars, awaiting her trial date. Multiple charges are pending, and the prosecution intends to seek the death penalty against her in addition to Chad Daybell.

Lori is being charged with first-degree murder for her children, J.J. and Tylee, in addition to a charge for Chad Daybell’s wife, Tammy.
