Netflix has announced that the hilarious sitcom “The Upshaws,” starring comedian Wanda Sykes, will be returning for two more seasons! The upcoming third season will premiere early in 2023, according to Variety.

Sykes stars as Lucretia Turner, the older sister of family matriarch Regina (Kim Fields). The Upshaws are a black working-class family living in Indiana. The series follows their daily struggles with a large variety of colorful personalities that sometimes clash.

The series stars Regina Y. Hicks, Page Kennedy, Diamond Lyons, Khali Spraggins, Jermelle Simon, Gabrielle Dennis, and Journey Christine. Sykes also co-created the series with Regina Y. Hicks.

Netflix renews The Upshaws for a third season

Part 1 of the second season of The Upshaws aired on June 29, 2022, and part 2 will air in early 2023. That doesn’t even include the next season!

When Netflix decides to divide a show, it can be hard to tell if the change is from “parts” or “seasons.” This can usually depend on how long the episodes are, confusing viewers.

The Upshaws season 2 has 16 episodes, of which the first eight were released in June, and the other half is expected to come out next year. We currently do not know how many episodes will be in The Upshaws season 3, nor the release date of these episodes if Netflix orders a full season.
