The Iconic Role Is Successfully Filled

The Joker is a complicated character to portray. Health Ledger made the Joker both cruel and lovable, and Joaquin Phoenix has respectfully left his own mark on the character. On August 31, Joker premiered at the Venice Film Festival and scored an eight minute standing ovation! Now that is no joke – 8 minutes is simply impressive. Phoenix is following in big footsteps, those of Jack Nicholson, Jared Leto, and of course, Heath Ledger.

The film will be released October 4.  A lot of talk and excitement has been circulating for the film, and after this successful film festival showing, viewers are ready to watch in awe. Joker has also recieved multiple reviews, of the most impressive;

Bold, devastating and utterly beautiful, Todd Phillips and Joaquin Phoenix have not just reimagined one of the most iconic villains in cinema history, but reimagined the comic book movie itself.
