Wedding Season is a forthcoming Netflix original movie that Tom Dey directs. Dey is best recognized for directing the films Shanghai Noon, Showtime, Failure to Launch, and Marmaduke. Swati Shetty produced the movie for Samosa Stories, with Ron Howard and Brian Grazer producing for Imagine Entertainment, alongside Jax Media.

Plot

It involves two people named Asha and Ravi, who try to fake a relationship during the forthcoming wedding season to get their overwhelming parents to leave them alone about getting married. Yet, along the way, Asha and Ravi start to understand they have more in common than they guessed. So, while they go through the wedding season, they discover themselves falling for each other.

Cast

The star-studded cast comprises Suraj Sharma, Pallavi Sharda, Rizwan Manji, Veena Sood, Ari Afsar, Sean Kleier, and Manoj Sood.

Is it based on a book?

Surprisingly, the romantic comedy is not based on a book. Instead, it’s original work from a talented screenwriter by the name of Shiwani Srivastava. In fact, Wedding Season marks Srivastava’s debut as a film writer. Producers for the rom-com (Ryan M. Murphy and John Rhodes) discovered Srivastava through the talent discovery platform Coverfly and brought her screenplay to Netflix.
