Marvel fans have been waiting for some kind of update about what this ‘Marvel Land’ was going to be and look like. Well, it’s here! At the D23 Expo this past weekend, an image was released of what the new Avengers Campus will look like. While its not a lot to go on, it is something so fans can start getting excited. But, we’re still going to have to wait until 2020 until we can be apart of the experience.
According to Will Fitzpatrick (ladbible.com), the Marvel Campus will also be in Disneyland in Paris as well. Fitzpatrick quotes Thomas Smith, the Disney Parks editorial content director, describing what fans can expect, saying “When guests visit Avengers Campus, they will become part of an interconnected, global story that spans from California to Paris to Hong Kong with the Avengers recruiting new extraordinary people to join them” (ladbible.com 1). This sounds like we are going to get to meet some new heroes as well as have a global experience. Disney is making this an immersive experience for fans to get even deeper into the Marvel Universe. I’m curious to see what other previews we’ll get as the opening date approaches but it still looks really cool! Disney never does anything half way so this is sure to be the next big land within California Adventure Park. Hopefully, more information will be released in a couple more months or early next year because fans, like myself, still want more. I’ve heard rumors that there will be a brewery type restaurant and some retail stores but nothing has been said about that. For now, the image is all we have so it’s just going to have to last us for a while. And hopefully the dispute over Spider-Man will be figured out soon because not seeing him in the movies anymore will not make fans happy! The drama and twists never stop!
