The Decade’s Best Game: GTA V

It’s official.

It's official.

Grand Theft Auto V has just been nominated best game of the decade following an online Twitter survey by LadBible involving over 9,000 voters.

Released by Rockstar Games in 2013, the game provided a new experience to gamers in an open world environment, where one was free to have as much liberty – or rather, cause as much chaos – as they pleased in between missions.

Set in a West-Coast inspired map in places such as San Andreas and Los Santos, the players take the role of three felons who have missions of committing more heists and staying out of jail. It granted a more realistic feel that could be exercised by the player, unrestricted by the planned missions one had to follow.

Its production involved around 1,000 people over five years of work, so its rapid success, being the fastest-selling entertainment product in history is well-granted. It earned £600m on its release day, and £765m in the following three days, winning awards and high scoring reviews continuously.

In the online poll, GTA V beat other fan favorites such as FIFA, Red Dead Redemption, and Call of Duty, stealing a full 40% of the votes in the LadBible Twitter Poll.

With this successful win in their arms, fans are speculating about a new potential GTA release from Rockstar Games… who knows, perhaps we’ll see GTA VI on the next poll?
