Summer 2024 saw a whole new rise back into House music with Charlie XCX basically coining the term “Brat Summer”. Will Summer 2025 be able to surpass its predecessor? There’s only one way to find out this answer.

Summer is almost here, so it’s time to get those beach outfits and playlists ready for the next three months. While some artists have already kicked off the early summer playlists, there are still some that will be releasing mid-summer.

With these albums, you’ll be able to curate a car ride home into the sunset or get ready to pregame with your friends before hitting the streets.

There’s bound to be something for everyone here, and who knows, you may just get reintroduced to an artist’s work.

Kali Uchis Starts us off with Sincerely

The Colombian R&B artist has come back to bless our ears once more with Sincerely, an album that is entirely in English.

After the release of Orquídeas, which was a more upbeat album featuring both songs in English and Spanish, Sincerely gives the audience a laid-back album full of R&B.

Kali often sits comfortably within this genre of music, often letting the instrumentals guide the path as she sings ethereally on the track.

Sincerely was released on May 9th, and though it may not be summer yet, this album is worth noting for its emphasis on relaxation and vibes.

This will be perfect for those late night drives back home, or just watching a sunset as you lay down and close your eyes and breathe.

This album conveys numerous messages about love and self-worth, almost as if you’re able to manifest things into existence. The teaser for the album supports this theme, which is very witchy and contains many candles and classic magician tricks.

An album made from love and will definitely keep the vibes of this summer positive, as some people enter their single era or rediscover themselves through Sincerely.

This is a definite listen and a great way to kick off some of the other albums we’ll see later on the list.

Guitarricadelafuente Spanish Leather

What a tongue-twister of a name! After appearing on Troye Sivan’s 2023 album Something to Give Each Other, Guitarricadelafuente would take a brief hiatus from music.

He’s now back and out with his second album, Spanish Leather, an album that will surely take you back to your teenage years and the chaos of it all.

Guitarricadelafuente is on the radar of newer artists, as one of the singles prior to the release of Spanish Leather would be the one that led me to discover his hit.

“Full-Time Papi” released in February and has since grown to be his number one song on Spotify, reaching almost 4.6 million streams.

This Spanish album contains many genres, such as Pop, Rock, Folk, and some ballads as well, to awaken those somber feelings.

This is a classic way to introduce the summertime, with the artist’s takes on life and the transformative years that are the young-adult life, and summer is often the time to discover yourself.

Spanish Leather has just about everything to get you ready for the summer, and even discover an anthem for yourself! So if the chiller summer vibes aren’t it, Guitarricadelafuente could be the artist you’ve been waiting to discover.

As we send off the early summer vibes, next are some albums that will be releasing in the midst of the summer to get hype for.

Miley Cyrus Something Beautiful has the World in Awe

Just like Guitarricadelafuente, Miley Cyrus has also come back from her hiatus to serve us a batch on new songs.

Something Beautiful is her next project and already has fans anticipating the drop since her release of what named “Act One”.

The 14-minute video included the first three tracks from Something Beautiful: “Prelude”, “Something Beautiful”, and “End of the World”.

All three of the singles are vastly different from each other, as we get a mix of genres. The self-titled track leans towards jazz and rock, while “End of the World” is Pop, showing Cyrus’ range and how diverse she can really get.

She also released another single from the album called “More to Lose” on May 9, and yet again, listeners were in for a shock with this instant classic of a Rock-ballad.

Needless to say, the pop-star from our childhood has done it again, and something beautiful will definitely come out once this album released.

She even acknowledged during the Spotify event that this might be one of her “gayest albums” to date.

In a quote caught by Billboard, she states,

“It’s not only my best album, but also my gayest…It [the album] changed my life, with anxiety, when something we label as ‘bad’ happens to greet it with excitement, because it always means that something is on the other side that’s gonna come from it. There’s always a lesson.”

I don’t want to say it too soon, but I can predict that Something Beautiful will have us dancing with streams of tears falling down our faces. The album drops May 30 and will surely add some more rock into the summer vibes.

Addison Rae is set to release Addison

Yes, you read that right. Our girl went from being a TikTok influencer to singing it out on a remix with the daughter of summer herself, Charlie XCX.

Since the release of her EP AR back in 2023, “Von Dutch a. g. cook remix” was her telling the world that she is still here and figuring herself out.

She is doing quite well with the recent releases of singles that she has put out. Starting off with “Diet Pepsi”, it’s very Pop without fitting into the category of annoying pop music that makes you want to turn it off.

It has a catchy chorus, something that Addison Rae has perfected with “High Fashion”. “High Fashion” delves into more of her House music aesthetic, which is something to die for, as we get this chorus that will make you feel like you’re slow dancing in a club.

She released her third single, “Headphones On”, which interpolates the 1988 track by Edie Brickell, “What I Am”.

It’s clear that Addison Rae has paved her path despite all the obstacles that has been in her way, and it feels like we are hearing exactly who Addison Rae is with this full length project.

Her debut album is set to release on June 6th, so whether you’re a fan or just tuning into Addison Rae, now will be the chance to finally understand what she has say with Addison

Lorde Returns with Virgen

Back with another artist from our childhood, Lorde has made her comeback with her popular hit single, “What Was That”.

It’s been four years since her previous project, and a year after Charlie XCX and Lorde worked it out on the remix.

After a 15-second teaser of the single, audiences around the world have since been tuning into Lorde to see what other surprises she has for us.

What we do know so far is the themes that Virgen will cover.

“The language is plain and unsentimental. The sounds are the same wherever possible. I was trying to see myself, all the way through. I was trying to make a document that reflected my femininity: raw, primal, innocent, elegant, openhearted, spiritual, masc,” As quoted by Bazaar.

This was sent to all her fans subscribed to her newsletter, and luckily, we won’t have to wait that long to hear Virgen.

The album is set to release on June 27, and then Lorde will go on tour throughout the fall. Fans will have an exciting month of June, as it starts with Addison Rae and ends with Lorde.

Needless to say, Lorde will be putting the cherry on top of our curated summer playlist. With an album that will surely make us sing and cry, you’re going to want to keep your eyes open for this. Has Lorde ever steered us wrong before?

With that comes the end of the summer vibes. Some old and new artists are making splashes, and although it won’t be like Brat Summer, we can try to get as close as we can with these new albums.
