One of the stranger things that we’ve seen on the internet over the last few days is Doja Cat beefing with 17-year-old actor Noah Schnapp.
Doja Cat seemingly responded to the discourse surrounding her very public feud with Stranger Things star Noah Schnapp in a tweet she shared earlier this week.
On Friday, the rapper who shot to fame after her song MOOO! became a viral hit back in 2018, tweeted “ya’ll are so cringe and lame and nobody wants to hand with u.” She added:
“That’s why y’all unironically writing replies to sh*t that makes you mad.”
She also changed her Twitter username to “im better than you”, but it’s unclear whether the change was referencing the ongoing drama.
But what was the drama that started it all?
Well, the root of it all came after Doja, 26, called out Schnapp, 17, in a TikTok Live video on Thursday over Schnapp publicly posting a private Instagram conversation between the pair in a since-deleted TikTok.
The juicy messages showed Doja asking the actor to help set her up with his Stranger Things costar, Joseph Quinn. Quinn recently joined the ST cast for the highly anticipated fourth season and portrayed geeky rock fan, Eddie Munson.
Fans quickly fell in love with the new character which meant that the internet has been thirsting over both Munson and Quinn for the last few weeks now. But it seems that Quinn is also catching the eye of fellow celebs, as Doja messaged Schnapp asking if Quinn had a girlfriend.
After Schnapp shared his TikTok with his 27.4 million followers, it soon became apparent that Doja was less than impressed with the young actor.
On July 7th, Doja took to TikTok live to vent “about the whole f*ckin’ Noah Schnapp thing.”
“First let’s be chill about it,” she began. “To be fair, this is like, a kid. Noah is like, I don’t know how old he is, but he’s not even over—like there’s no way he’s over like 21.”
Schnapp, who is currently 17, remains the youngest member of the show’s original cast.
“When you’re that young, you make mistakes,” Doja continued:
“You do dumb sh*t. I’m like trying to be super fair. You say dumb sh*t, you f*ck up relationships with people. You make mistakes. You’re supposed to do stuff like that so that you know not to do it in the future. I did my share of f*ck-ups so that I don’t f*ck-up again.”
Doja went on to say, “the fact that Noah did that. Like, went and posted a private conversation between me and him is so unbelievably socially unaware and whack./ That’s like borderline snake sh*t, that’s like weasel sh*t.”

But how did the internet respond?
A lot of people thought that the fiery response from the Grammy Award winner was unfair considering Schnapp’s age and Doja’s history of unabashed public flirting.
In tweets she had posted to her own account days before Schnapp’s video, Doja openly expressed her attraction to Quinn. And in a since-deleted Twitter reply to a fan, Doja referred to Quinn’s good looks as “f*cking criminal.”
Very few are taking Doja’s side in the matter with many criticizing her choice to message Schnapp in the first place.
However, neither Schnapp nor Quinn have responded to any of the controversies – besides Schnapp deleting the TikTok in question – but Quinn admitted himself that his “exposure to social media has been minimal.”
But who knows how this story will end, or if we will ever get a conclusion as new celebrity tensions always are always on the horizon.
