Time for Deadpool 3, where Wolverine and Deadpool finally get a movie together so, let’s see if these two heroes can tolerate one another throughout the film!

Writers and Cast

This Deadpool movie is a sequel to Deadpool (2016) and Deadpool 2 (2018). It is directed by Shawn Levy, who is best known for directing Night of the Museum and being a primary producer for the popular franchise Stranger Things. The screenplay was written by Levy, Ryan Reynolds, Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, and Zeb Wells. Wells previously worked on She-Hulk: Attorney at Law (2022) as well as the film The Marvels (2023). Rob Simonsen was hired to compose the score. He is known for his scores on The Adam Project and the fourth season of Stranger Things. Reynolds is reprising his role as Deadpool. Hugh Jackman is returning to his role as Wolverine after retiring from the role. Jackman has a change of heart in early 2022, after turning down the part:

“Could be so much fun; I’ll probably have more fun on that movie than anything I’ve ever done”

Emma Corrin is set to be in the main villain role in this movie. She is known for her roles in The Crown (2021-2023) and Murder at the End of the World (2023). Mobius M. Mobius played by Owen Wilson and Miss Minutes voiced by Tara Strong are also set to make appearances in Deadpool and Wolverine. Both were previously featured in the hit Marvel series Loki.

The Plot

The plot centers around the Time Variance Authority (TVA), which was heavily featured in the Marvel series Loki. This group pulls our red-suited hero from his quiet life. He is thrust from his chaos-free life and sent on a mission that will change the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) alongside Wolverine. Fans of Deadpool and Marvel have heard plenty of references to Wolverine and the X-Men in the previous Deadpool movies. In Deadpool (2016) most of the references to the X-Men were due to Wade’s (Deadpool) dislike for the hero group. However, in Deadpool 2 (2018), Wade joins forces with the X-Men in an attempt to stop the villain Cable. We still have had no sighting of Wolverine in the Deadpool movies, so we are very excited to see him featured in this third installment.

The control of the character and the rights was transferred to Marvel Studios. In May 2023, filming for Deadpool and Wolverine began at Pinewood Studios in England. Some took place in Norfolk, and some in Bovington Film Studios. Filming was suspended in July 2023 due to the SAG-AFTRA Writers Strike. It resumed in November 2023 and wrapped in January 2024.
