A CGI James Dean Set To Star In ‘Finding Jack’

James Dean is back to steal our hearts?

The new movie, Finding Jack, a film about military dogs who were left after the Vietnam War and based on the novel, will star James Dean. Last I heard, James Dean passed away in 1955, which should make it hard to have him star in a new movie. The technology we are all faced with, however, has brought him “back to life” through CGI.

Tons of people are upset over this concept – taking a well-known actor who has died and bringing them back to the screen without their permission. A large amount of people took to Twitter to explain how this concept is strange and disrespectful. Some famous faces even, like Chris Evans, or Captain America showed his feelings towards the concept.

Animated Antic on Twitter also includes a powerful reason for why this should not be done:

Respecting actors for what they did with the time they had is what makes history and keeps films evolving. Like Animated Antic pointed out, this halts the flow of new actors and the creation of new inspiration.

James Dean will forever be seen as an iconic actor.  I am sure this use of CGI is in an effort to show new generations the power of Dean, but his originality can only be captured in the films he signed onto and was truly a part of.
