I must say I am surprised about this design. Especially since Nike just released a body positive plus sized mannequin with active wear to be all inclusive. This is kind of going backwards…
The new Nike Air Max FF does closely resemble a household iron…
Interestingly enough, the shoes are sponsored by England’s Frank Kirby.
Social media was not kind to Nike either. Check out some of these tweets.
Clearly there is a resemblance, and the public is NOT happy. But I don’t think that these shoes were designed like this on purpose. I would like to think that the design team didn’t say “hey, let’s mess with women, let’s make a shoe like an iron it will be great.” Clearly it’s not great and Nike will have to make a decision about whether to keep them on the shelves or not. Ironically (LOL), they might end up selling well.
P.S. Did anyone notice that they’re labeled Nike Air Max FF. Maybe the FF is “for females?” Or it’s just coincidence…either way, Nike needs a little help it seems.
In the meantime, maybe you want a pair of self-lacing shoes. Marty McFly ain’t got nothing on these.
