Ever feel like your ex walked all over you? Maybe you’d relish the opportunity to return the gesture. Well, London-based company Bompas and Parr have you covered. The company have recently launched a new item available to order; shoe insoles printed with a photograph of your ex’s face.

Offering something for the singles this Valentine’s Day, the company is taking orders on personalized insoles, having created a unique way to ease the pain of your latest heartbreak. The idea is to take pleasure in stomping on your ex’s face as you walk -or jog!- your way to a better life. Director of the company behind the insoles, Harry Parr says that “by walking over the face of those who have wronged or upset you, these insoles offer a chance to redeem your own soul from the torture of the break-up, give yourself a psychological boost and ready yourself for the joy of your next relationship.” While soul redemption seems a lofty claim for a pair of insoles, they are definitely a conversation starter.

The concept behind the insoles comes from an artefact displayed at the Petrie museum of Egyptian archaeology.   Reportedly, “the placement of a symbol of your enemy on the soles of your shoes represented a means to metaphorically subjugate and demean your enemy by literally treading them underfoot”.

Despite the historical significance behind the idea, wearing insoles printed with a photograph of an ex’s face probably isn’t going to cure your heartbreak any quicker. Some would say that looking at your ex’s face every time you leave the house will cause more harm than good- not to mention what your roommate might think when Emma is smiling up at them from inside your trainers. For those still entrenched in the catharsis stage of a break up though, they might just provide the release of anger you’ve been looking for. The insoles cost £10 a pair and details for ordering are available at http://bompasandparr.com
