Known for her iconic brand collaborations and wacky products, Anya Hindmarch has released another Universal Bag in the UK.
Following the success of her collaborations with Sainsbury’s and Waitrose, the high-end designer has unveiled her newest design, this time working alongside Selfridges in the UK. Released in three Selfridges locations (London, Manchester, and Birmingham) the striking yellow bag was released on Monday, December 19, and has already sold out.
Costing £10 per bag, shoppers queued outside Selfridges waiting to get their hands on the limited edition tote, with one TikTok user documenting her experience buying one. Due to the high demand, the Universal Bag was limited to two per customer but sold out on its release day, with no plans to restock.
Each collaboration so far has featured the brand’s famous colors with Anya’s usual twist and logo, with the Selfridges edition being no different. It featured a bright yellow bag, in keeping with the Selfridges logo and brand colors, with a contrast stripe on the strap, making it really stand out.
Previous versions featured the Waitrose green and the Sainsbury’s maroon, with every option having a unique color palette to help differentiate the products. Hindmarch also released a collaboration with Hong Kong brand city’Super earlier this year, with the Selfridges alternative being the fourth installment in the product line.
Anya Hindmarch confirmed on her website that there are “a series of exciting global launches to be announced in early 2023”, alluding to more sellout editions of The Universal Bag. Its reusable, recyclable and long-lasting design has been proven to be a hit with fans, so new colorways and collaborations are sure to go down a treat.
With 2023 just around the corner, we could be seeing new versions of the much-loved Universal Bag sooner rather than later, so stay tuned!
