Borat has finally returned, even more controversial than ever. Take a look at the trailer below:

The film’s controversiality stems from its overt attacks on Trump and Epstein. Sacha Baron Cohen, who plays Borat, claimed that the film needed to be released before the US Presidential election coming up in November. He claimed, in a New York Times interview, that the film was a reminder of who to vote for, suggesting: “We wanted it to be a reminder to women of who they’re voting for – or who they’re not voting for. If you’re a woman and you don’t vote against this guy, then know what you’re doing for your gender.”

In one scene, Baron Cohen donned a fat suit, some prosthetics and snuck into a Pence rally dressed as Donald Trump. Though, he claimed that he hid in the bathroom for around five hours before braving the event, where he found himself surrounded by the Secret Service.

Many people have taken to Twitter to praise the sequel, even Seth Macfarlane from Family Guy tweeted “Borat 2 is a work of genius.” Followed by “Sacha Baron Cohen understands America better than America does.”

Borat 2 was said to draw in more viewers in its opening weekend than Mulan, perhaps a symptom of a very heated political climate. What did you think?
