A Resort in the Maldives is Offering a Private Beach For People Working From Home

“… make working from paradise the most luxurious experience ever.”

It has never been clearer than during this unprecedented global lockdown, the true extent to which one’s working environment has a direct impact on productivity and morale. So, how does a desk with an ocean view, a “dedicated” personal assistant, non-stop refreshments and a complimentary laundry service sound?

Dubbed the ‘Workstation Package’, The Nautilus Maldives introduced this setup to help home workers get through their working day in peace and comfort.

As The Nautilus Maldives is on one of the smallest island resorts in the nation with just 26 houses and residences, the business claims it is “the safest place to be right now.”

You can set up office in this “bohemian hideaway” in the Baa Atoll UNESCO biosphere reserve for up to 28 days. And with a private seaplane to minimise contact, wholly private excursions, consciously-spaced dining, and complimentary Covid-19 testing, the resort is supposedly “perfect for a private family retreat or an intimate escape with a conscious lack of interaction with others in order to honour safety under the current climate.”

And when you’re not working, you can be dining at one of three restaurants that are open 24 hours a day, relaxing with a private yoga or meditation session, lazing on a private yacht available to guests, or enjoying a movie night under the stars.

The resort’s website says that the experience offers: “Gifts that money cannot buy – time, freedom, refuge.”

However, maybe it goes without saying, money is in fact essential to experiencing this luxury… and quite a lot of it.

A seven-night stay for two people at one of The Nautilus Maldives’ 26 beach and ocean houses will set you back $23,250, with a two-week or three-week stay racking up a bill of $37,850 or $52,000 respectively.

As magnificent as this all sounds, paradise isn’t quite within my price range.

I’ll just have to settle for working to the soothing sounds of a drunk student singing ‘Wonderwall’ outside of my window… at least he’s really putting his heart into it.
