Boredom and access to streaming services have turned into a viral trend of using Netflix to predict your future. If you’ve ever wondered what your favorite characters thought about your future, you’re in luck – there’s a way to find out!
A new Tik Tok trend, called the “Psychic TV challenge,” tells you how. It uses the first letters of your name then a series of random number choices to choose the line of a show that then predicts your future.
This entertaining yet unreliable challenge was started by user @gracebergie who demonstrates it in her Tik Tok below:

The first subject of this challenge received creepy news when Agent Gibbs from ‘NCIS’ announces that “she passed away.” This was met with laughs by Grace and her friend, who encourage others to hop on the trend.
Basically, you use the “search” feature and the first letter of your name to pull results. Then, pick a number 1-10. This gives you the show to choose.
Next, pick a number between 1 and the newest available season of that show on Netflix. Then, choose a number between 1 and the number of episodes available. Finally, pick a number between 1 and the number of minutes in the episode. Skip to that minute. Press play. Hear your future. It’s pretty simple.
The original Tik Tok received thousands of people commenting their own “fortunes” using this trick. The trend inspired many more videos, too, of users trying it for themselves.
Netflix even reacted to the trend, writing “Oh no!” They neither deny or confirm that this hack actually predicts the future, but I think it’s safe to say that it doesn’t.
Whether or not you like this silly trend, it is pretty entertaining. If you have access to a streaming service, I definitely recommend.
