The Cat Filter Makes An Unexpected Appearance In A Livestream Held By This Canadian Police Force

Talk about bad timing.

The blunder was an unfortunate error on the part of The Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

We’ve all been there haven’t we, a text sent to the wrong person, a photo meant for someone in particular posted to your Snapchat story. Technological blunders are pretty common, and often pretty embarrassing.

Well, you’ll never feel too mortified again after reading this article.

Why, you may ask?

Well as it turns out, these blunders happen to quite literally everyone even the police.

To be honest, this is a bigger blunder than you’ll probably ever make.

That’s right, while The Royal Mounted Canadian Police were live-streaming a press conference on Facebook about a double murder of an American woman and her Australian boyfriend, they accidentally turned on the cat filter.

Yeah, that is as horrendously awkward as it sounds.

The result was that Sgt. Janelle Shoihet, who was talking at the time, ended up looking like (you guessed it) a cat. Not ideal given the nature of the livestream.

Obviously an updated video was then  posted, sans the cat filter. Still, I would not like to have been the person who accidentally popped the filter on in the first place.

It seems they aren’t the only ones who have made this mistake however, check out how the Pakistani Government managed to do the same thing during this livestream.
