They say that any attention is good attention. And apparently, whoever the marketing manager is for IHOP should get a reward because people were downright outraged over their recent identity change.

How do you have four different types of pancake syrup lined up on each table and call yourself a burger joint? Exactly. I’m upset too.

Now, the real reason for the change is that IHOP, or IHOB (for those who are down), wanted to promote their new burger line. They came out with seven new burgers to choose from. And yes, they did sell burgers before. You just didn’t know it because you were there for the pancakes.

You can choose from The Classic, The Classic With Bacon, The Mega Monster, The Big Brunch, The Cowboy BBQ, the Jalapeño Kick, and The Mushroom and Swiss.

Still not on board? Those burgers don’t have you convinced? Well, due to the level 1000 outrage on the internet, IHOP had to release a statement saying that they were not really changing their name and IHOB was only a way of promoting their new burgers.

I guess the lesson here is don’t mess with people’s pancakes.

You’re hungry now. I know. I’m sorry for doing that, but here’s McDonald’s New Absurd Food Challenge! Think You Could Do It?
