Fan Creates A Trailer For A Russian Version Of ‘Friends’

Russian culture to a T.

The internet brings us some pretty wonderful and weird stuff. The latest being a home-made trailer for a Russian version of the hit TV show ‘Friends’.

I think it’s safe to say that Friends fans are one of the most devoted fan bases ever. Most fans will be able to recite 99% of the script by heart. The amount of crazy theories and alternate endings that fans have come up with really is a testament to the level of creativity and dedication of some Friends fans. The latest is something a bit different though.

When people think of Russia and America, there are many notable differences. I won’t go on to list them all, but I think it’s safe to say that culturally they are not very similar. So, how, one might ask, could one make a Russian trailer for Friends? Well, let me show you:

Titled ‘Blyats’, unsurprisingly meaning ‘Friends’ in Russian, the trailer shows what a Russian version of Friends would look like. The trailer perfectly exemplifies the cultural difference between America and Russia. The trailer doesn’t have quite the same friendly, warm vibes we get from the more well known trailer- especially with all the drinking and fighting.

Whoever made this video has a good sense of humour! I think I’d definitely rather continue watching the US version than this though.
