How to Make Cornwall the Highlight of Your Year

If you’re thinking about planning a staycation, how about the southwest coast, famous for its tropical-like beaches, incredible waves, and tasty treats – Cornwall?

Have you thought about what trips you want to take next year? Will you be heading off abroad or having a staycation within the UK?

If you’re thinking about planning a staycation, how about the southwest coast, famous for its tropical-like beaches, incredible waves, and tasty treats – Cornwall?

With Cornwall holiday parks, for example, offering you great locations within the Cornish lands to base your adventure and explorations, how else can you make Cornwall the highlight of your year? – We have a few suggestions.

Cornwall is home to an abundance of festivals, with new ones being added to its calendar all the time. Therefore, we wanted to showcase just a few of the many that Cornwall will be hosting in 2023, so you can plan your trip around these dates if any take your fancy.

So, are you ready to explore Cornwall’s festival calendar?

21 – 22 April: Rattler Fest

A festival for those 18 and above, the Rattler Fest brings two days of live music both on the main stage and within the Après Ski lodge session tent, the club fromage section. You’ll see celebrity DJs performing, a Mr. and Mrs Rattler competition, spring break part games, silent discos, live bands, fairground rides, a pineapple beach and the Rattler Olympics, all rounded off with great food and all things Rattler cyder and gin!

The festival takes place at Healey’s Cornish Cyder Farm, Penhallow, Truro.

12 – 14 May: St Ives Food and Drink Festival

A festival celebrating the very best of Cornish food and drink is free for all to attend. Taking place along the iconic Porthminster beach, St Ives Food and Drink festival is full of culinary experts, and various attractions offering visitors the chance to taste the very best of local beverages and food during this three day festival.

You can expect to find chef demos, street food, artisan market areas, daytime music, food workshops, artist galleries, kids activities and bars supplying local drinks.

9 – 13 August: Boardmasters Festival

With its first festival in 1981, Boardmasters Festival has become an annual event hosted on Fistral beach, Newquay.

This five-day festival event plays host to the biggest names in pro surfing, as well as hosting big named artists on the big stage, with the likes of George Ezra and Kings of Leon and many more making up the 2022s lineup. The 2023 lineup is still to be announced, so it’s worth keeping an eye out for announcements on the official Boardmasters site.

There’s nowhere better to be if you’re wanting to witness world-class surfing in the UK.
