Filming for the next installment in the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise is due to begin this November.

The news was revealed by Dave Bautista, the actor who plays Drax the Destroyer in the films. Bautista revealed that he had not yet read the script for Guardians 3 or the holiday special, which is also due to be filmed.

Bautista also said: “I believe it’s changed from what it originally was. We were supposed to do Guardians 3 a long time ago, and we were gonna do the Christmas special then.”

However he could reveal that: “…we’re gonna start filming Guardians 3 in November this year, I believe it’s gonna be a six-seven month shoot in Atlanta.

“I believe somewhere in that time, we’re also gonna shoot the holiday special. But that’s all I know… I’m going to play Drax, I know that.”

The last time we saw the Guardians of the Galaxy, was during Avengers: Endgame where the Guardians were searching for Gamora along with Thor.

The film has a release date of March 2023, a whole six years after Guardians of the Galaxy 2 was released, so fans still have some time to wait for the next installment in the franchise.
