According to Allen Hughes, co-director of “Menace II Society,” Dr. Dre has been recording non-stop lately. Whether he’s laying down his own tracks, or producing someone else’s, Dre is always in the studio.
“Dre still records,” says director/producer Allen Hughes told Uproxx. “People don’t know this: Dre records every day. Literally, he’s in there recording songs every day. He’s like Picasso in that way. He’s always painting. Right now he’s producing, in the 11th hour, a track for Eminem’s latest album.”
Though there may be more going on than just producing. There are rumors that Dr. Dre may also appear on a track for Eminem’s new album. Since his last studio album “The Marshall Mathers LP 2” (2013) Eminem has been working hard, providing a soundtrack for the movie “Southpaw.” Since he’s back in the booth for a new studio album, there’s even been talk of a possible collaboration with 2Chainz.
Hughes made the comment to Uproxx, strategically before the release of his new HBO documentary “The Defiant Ones,” which is based on the lives of Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine.
Can’t wait for his next album? Well, check out this video of Eminem performing the impossible: rhyming the word “orange.”
