After filming twenty seasons in fourteen years, Keeping Up with the Kardashians will be ending in 2021.

After filming twenty seasons in fourteen years, Keeping Up with the Kardashians will be ending in 2021.

Last Tuesday (September 8th), Kim Kardashian-West announced on Instagram the family’s departure. 

“To our amazing fans – It is with heavy hearts that we’ve made the difficult decision as a family to say goodbye to Keeping Up with the Kardashians… we are beyond grateful to all of you who’ve watched us for all of these years – through the good times, the bad times, the happiness, the tears, and the many relationships and children.”

Moreover, the family thanked E!, the production team at Bunim/Murray, and Ryan Seacrest, who has been their executive producer since the beginning.

It’s Been 14 Years…

According to PageSix, the Kardashian-Jenner clan has admitted to growing tired of filming after twenty seasons. With respect to the fans and the E! network, the family declared their decision with the hopes to end the show on a “high note.” 

Meanwhile, TMZ explained after a decline in ratings the family has instead resorted to prioritizing their influence on social media.

As within the family, since season 18, members like Kourtney Kardashian had been vocal on wanting to depart from the show.

Overall, netizens have provided mixed reactions; fans’ reactions on twitter have varied from relief to despair.

Prior to the show, Kris Jenner was better known as the ex-wife to O.J. Simpson’s attorney, Robert Kardashian, Kardashian-West was acknowledged as Paris Hilton’s sidekick, and the Jenner sisters were only school-children.

After Premiering in 2007, the series has since cemented the family’s stronghold on popular culture. Reigning a multimedia empire, the family has left an undeniable influence on the fashion, makeup, and celebrity industry. As of 2020, the family has accomplished various clothing lines, cosmetic companies, apps, and a homestay on the celebrity tabloids. 

Today, matriarch Kris Jenner is a respected businesswoman, while Kardashian-West has prioritized her focus on criminal justice reform. As for the Jenner sisters, they are now two of the most powerful and lucrative influencers in the public media.

Love the show or hate it, the series’ conclusion has marked an end of an era.

Keeping Up with the Kardashians‘ latest season will be airing on September 17th, while their final season will be released on 2021.
