Here Are the Best Non-Alcoholic Drinks to Cool Down With This Summer

Crack open a cold one with the boys.

If you’re sick of La Croix but want to enjoy a nice, refreshing non-alcoholic beverage, then these tasty drinks  are just what you need this summer.

It’s that time of year again to spend more time out in the sun, enjoying all the world has to offer. Of course, that’s a bit more difficult this year with the worldwide pandemic going on but even if you’re social distancing that won’t stop you from sitting in the sun with a nice cool drink. These are some options for people out there who need something new but don’t want to get hammered.

#1: Casamara Club – $36 for a 12 pack

From Casamara Club

This Italian “refreshing leisure soda” is made from sparkling water and amaro bitters. Perfect for when you want a light and refreshing drink that doesn’t overwhelm you.  It comes in four distinct flavors: Alta (citrus), Onda (sage), Capo (Honey), and Sera (cinnamon).

#2: Cheerwine – $5 for a 12 pack

From Wikimedia

A stable of North Carolina, Cheerwine is a deliciously sweet black cherry soda that is lovingly referred to as “the south’s unique cherry soft drink”. It has been continuously produced since 1917 and the creators claim it to be “the oldest continuing soft drink company still run by the same family”.

#3: Holy Kombucha – $14 for a 6 pack

From Holy Kombucha

Kombucha is very popular these days, and rightly so. This fermented tea concoction is a delicious, potent and supposedly beneficial drink that has a unique taste. I enjoy kombucha from time to time, especially the Pickly Pear flavor.

#4: Dad’s Root Beer – $5 for a 12 pack

From Dad’s Root Beer

To me, root beer is the king of sodas. It’s the only soft drink I ever really enjoyed, especially in a root beer float. Dad’s Root Beer is a unique brand out of Chicago and, in my opinion, it’s the best out there.

Drink #5: Goldthread Tonics – $30 for a 6 pack

From Goldthread Tonics

Definitely the most expensive of the bunch, these potion-like tonics are a completely different type of summer beverage for you to try. These tonics are a mix of herbs and spice which rooted in the company’s background as an apothecary. These drinks do claim to have benefits to both the mind and body but don’t count on it. They look cool though.

Overall, it’s really important that we all find ways to enjoy the summer in a safe and responsible way. While I will likely be boozing it up from my backyard for the foreseeable future, these drinks are some viable options if you’d rather chill out and not feel hungover the next day. And if you’d rather continue to stay inside and avoid the sun completely, here are some interesting live streams to keep you occupied throughout your lockdown.
