I Am Doner is a specialty high-end kebab shop, and they like to get a little experimental around the holidays.

For Christmas this year, you can buy a reindeer doner kebab from them. Doner kebabs almost look like your traditional wrap but it’s shaped like an inverted cone. So yes, back to the reindeer. It’s actually one of the best types of meat that you can eat, according to the restaurant. Reindeer meat contains high levels of B-12, omega-3, omega-6, and other essential fatty acids. It’s also one of the leanest meats and low in fat.

The founder of I Am Doner Paul Baron said this about the creation:

“We launched a Christmas kebab last year and it went nuts, it got us thinking about what we could do this year.

As a chef, I am always looking for inspiration from the world around me and when the opportunity came up to visit Lapland, meet other chefs and discover their cuisine, I jumped at the chance.

It was there, in the home of Santa Claus, that we discovered how important reindeer meat is in the their culture. We met a reindeer farmer whose family had been farming this way for over 300 years and an award-winning chef that help us understand the ingredients and flavors they use.”

What else is in this kebab, you may ask? Well, paired with the reindeer meat is a tangy lingonberry creme fraiche, your classic gravy, spicy chili jam, root vegetable sauerkraut, parsnips crisps, and tasty stuffing.
