Nikolas (Nik) Wallenda is an American acrobat who is best known for his extreme high wire walks without the support of a safety net or harness. He holds eleven world records for various acrobatic feats.
In the past, Wallenda had walked across the Grand Canyon and the Niagara Falls without a safety net to break his fall or a harness to keep him safe.
Viewers turned into watch Wallenda walk 1,800 feet on a steel tightrope on March 4, over the active volcano Masaya in Nicaragua. The walk was being shown on national television, but the watchers were disappointed by Wallenda’s feat when they realized the acrobat had a harness over his frame.
They seemed to think that Wallenda was a fraud for promoting the walk as a high-stakes, life-threatening experience when his life was never in danger and additionally thought that there was no reason to air it on national television. The angry mob of viewers took to Twitter to tweet their outrage:
Take a look at the video below of Wallenda attempting his stunt over the Masaya Volcano and decide if it was as unimpressive as the complaints are saying it is. And for more articles about extreme sports click here.
