22 year old Austin Wallace from Ohio, USA, decided to quit his job as a welder to try and work for YouTube star, Logan Paul. Wallace was apparently making $100,000 a year but said that “I wanna act, I wanna do these things…” He thought that the best way to achieve his dream was to approach Logan Paul after his fight with Tyron Woodley and ask for a job.
It did not go the way he expected.
Wallace scammed his way backstage at the fight, which is what originally caught Paul’s attention. He then went on to explain his situation and instead of getting a job offer on the spot, Logan Paul offered him some advice.
“What are you good at?”
Wallace then began to tell Paul that he tried some TikTok trends and even showed him some moves. But, shortly after admitted that he doesn’t have what it takes, to which Paul responded, “Then why would I give you a job?” His answer was blunt to say the least.
Logan Paul paused, then went on to explain that, “I can’t be a mentor right now. I’m a f***- up myself. I need a mentor…”
He also added that, “I’m glad you quit your job, it takes balls to do that, but now you gotta activate.” He told Wallace that, “Life isn’t about handouts, you’ve gotta work.” He also said that the best way to make it is to move to LA and form as many connections as he can.
The encounter clearly crushed Wallace as he sat in tears during the video’s intro. He even said “I’m gonna break down right now.”
Although, there may be a bright side to Wallace’s endeavours. His TikTok has recieved over 1.6M likes and his account now has 144.7k followers.
However, in a recent YouTube vlog Austen revealed that he has not made the life changing decision to move to LA but instead, returned home to Ohio and managed to get his old welding job back. Maybe not the adventurous ending any of us hoped for but at least he took a risk.
