Kathmandu Connection is India’s popular Crime Thriller web series inspired by real-life events. The show made its debut on 23 April 2021, and its second season was released on 23 December 2022. The first season was based on the 1993 Bombay blasts, and the second was inspired by IC 814 hijacking case.

The show stars Amit Sial as Samarth Kaushik, Anshumaan Pushkar as Sunny, Anurag Arora as Shravan Mishra, Aksha Pardasany as Shivani Bhatnagar, Vikram Singh Sodha as Trilok Kumar, Anurag Arora as Shravan Mishra, Sanjiv Chopra as Madan Sharma, Harleen Sethi as Tasneem and more.

As the 1993 Bombay blasts inspired the first season, the series was called a gripping thriller with elements to hook up the audience. The show was filled with critical details that The Indian Express appreciated. 1993 Bombay Blasts were a series of bomb blasts on 12 March 1993. These were 12 continuous blasts that shook the roads of Maharashtra and killed 257 people.

The second season was said to be presented in a more sinister tone. It was filled with a fantastic cast and had a gripping decent watch. The show unfortunately suffered from the Deja Vu effect as sometimes the plot can be seen as ‘been there seen that’.

This season was based on the hijacking of IC 814, an Indian Airplane, on 24 December 1999. The makers and the cast have yet to reveal anything about its upcoming season and whether there is an additional season planned. Everything depends on the love and response of the second season.
