The Queen has a rare reaction and breaks composure to retaliate against a photographers direction.

Annie Leibovitz, a renowned portrait photographer, was subject to a rather awkward exchange with the Queen. While taking the photographs Annie Leibovitz requested that the Queen remove her crown saying; “I think it will look better without the crown. It will look better, less dressy.”

The Queen responds by saying “Less dressy!? What do you think this is?!” referring to the showy robe she is wearing. This video shared on TikTok by the account Brittoker shows the exchange as well as another clip showing the Queen walking with her assistant saying; “I’m not changing anything. I’ve done enough dressing like this, thank you very much.”

Although this looks as if the Queen has stormed off after Annie Leibovitz gave made her request it was later confirmed that the second clip shows the Queen arriving for the photoshoot, so before any encounter with Leibovitz.

It is unusual for us to see the Queen break her composure, especially in a retaliation. Although as she giggles slightly after her comment maybe the encounter wasn’t as awkward as it has been constructed to appear. The Queen has been known to joke around with others during appearances and other royal duties.
