President Trump Names WWE’s Vince McMahon as One of His Special Advisors in Hopes That it Will Kickstart the Economy

Now I’ve seen it all.

Now I've seen it all.

The current president of the United States has done a lot of questionable things during his term that he considered being sound decision-making but had instead left the citizens of this country scratching their heads in bewilderment trying to understand his thought processes and actions. The latest decision from Trump that has baffled the country? He has elected WWE’s Vince McMahon to be one of his special advisors.

Trump announced “that he put together a group featuring the commissioners of the nations top sport leagues and other executives in order to get live sports back as soon as possible after the virus in order to stimulate the economy,” according to Sick Chirpse on April 15. In addition to McMahon, Trump had additionally enlisted the help of bigwigs from the NBA, NFL, MLB, and NHL, along with the Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban and New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft.

At the conference where Trump revealed his plan to revitalize the national sports sector of the entertainment industry, he was quoted to have said, “We have to get our sports back, I’m tired of watching baseball games that are 14 years old,” and “I haven’t actually had too much time to watch – I would say maybe I watch one batter and then I get back to work.”

While getting all the big players and businessmen on a committee to help the sports industry is not one of Trump’s bigger missteps, and might actually have some legitimacy, the fact that the president contradicted himself back to back is not reassuring. Even more than that, based on what researchers have been saying about how long it could take to create a COVID-19 vaccine and the reports from Stanford saying that the California breakout might be actually 40 times greater than the reported numbers, it seems highly unlikely that America will be in any condition to reopen stadiums across the country or film sport events, even without an audience, any time soon.
