Gordon Ramsay Faces Backlash From PETA After He Uploaded a Video of Him on a Farm

It’s all kicking off over social media.

Known for his controversial comments in the kitchen, Gordon Ramsay is facing backlash from animal rights charity PETA after a video uploaded of him on a farm sparked an angry backlash.

Foul-mouthed chef Gordon Ramsay may be known for his shows such as Hell’s Kitchen and Kitchen Nightmares, but he’s also made quite an appearance on social media, with many of his TikTok videos going viral. Posting a variety of content from food reviews of other users’ videos to dancing trends with his daughter Tilly, the dad-of-five has found himself hot under the collar, only this time it’s because of his most recent upload, not the heat of an oven.

Captioning the video “the lamb sauce was still not found in the making of this video”, an ode to one of his infamous lines, the celebrity chef can be seen entering a lamb pen rubbing his hands together and saying “yum yum yum”. And it only gets more iconic from that point on. In true Ramsay style, he then asks “who wants to go in the oven first?”. Judging by the animals’ response to run away immediately as he enters the enclosure, the answer is unanimously no one.

The fun all seemed to stop, however, once PETA, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, got involved, although their take on the video also caused quite a stir, resulting in the organization prompting the Ramsay offspring to disown their dad. Whilst many understood PETA’s argument that picking out a lamb for slaughter and actively making a joke of it isn’t highly moral, their response was also rather harsh.

After being viewed over 12 million times on the social media app, PETA made a public statement condemning both his actions and his person. They said: “Gordon Ramsay is a callous man who makes a fool of himself. Intimidating gentle lambs is loutish, not amusing.” They then continued to add “What would be funny is if his children went vegan and disowned him — much in the way Elon Musk’s daughter disowned her father. Those lambs are just babies who want little from life but the chance to live it and not end up in this moron’s — or anyone else’s — mouth.” It looks like someone didn’t see the funny side…

It’s not the first time the pair have clashed either, with PETA constantly attacking the chef’s actions for being unethical towards animals. Considering he works with meat on a daily basis, there sure is a lot they wouldn’t like about him. His quick tongue also doesn’t help the situation, with constant comments online proving as ammo to the animal rights group. When seemingly mocking the PETA acronym and claiming it stood for “People eating tasty animals”, they responded with a simple opening line showing their disappointment – “oh, dear, Gordon.”

Despite PETA’s outcry and attempt to break up the family, Gordon is still posting comedic videos on TikTok and we can’t see him stopping anytime soon. For now, there are plenty of other celebs who we’re sure PETA wouldn’t be especially friendly with either, so maybe we’ll see an online dispute between someone else and the charity next.
