The UK Government is proposing a new bill that will punish pet abusers for up to five years in prison for beating their pet. Environment Secretary, Micheal Gove, publicized the new bill, which will be the strictest and toughest suppression in all of Europe. He said:

“There is no place in this country for animal cruelty. That is why I want to make sure that those who abuse animals are met with the full force of the law.”
“Our new Bill sends a clear message that this behavior will not be tolerated, with the maximum five-year sentence one of the toughest punishments in Europe.
“I am committed to making our country the best place in the world for the care and protection of animals.”

The proposing of this new bill is the right step in the direction when it comes to animal rights. This the right way to fight for animal rights, by going to your government and advocating for change that way. You don’t make a fool of yourself by going into a restaurant and shaming people for their dietary preferences. If some animal rights were to follow this example, more animals will be adopted from shelters and will be placed in loving homes.
