Now, will we see beaded fashion as the new summer 2025 trend or is it a revival that’s here to stay?

Records show that beaded hand work actually dates back to over 300,000 to 100,000 B.C. in places like the Middle East, Africa, and Russia. It’s crazy to think that this style, which we see as a current trend, was actually one of the earliest forms of luxury.

In Kenya, beads were made from natural substances like clay, wood, and copper. They were used to make headdresses, masks, and baskets.

In the Americas, Native tribes used stones and pearls in geometrical patterns for religious ceremonies.
There are many more examples of how beadwork was influential and prominent in particular cultures. However, it is important to recognize that this trend we see now has so many significant layers all around the world.

Now in 2025, if you’ve come across this fashion style, you’ve most likely seen it in the form of hand bags. Popular stores, Athropologie and Altar’d State, have gone viral for their beautiful line of beaded bags.
What’s especially particular about the beaded bags, though, is that their uniqueness doesn’t just lay in the beadwork itself. It is also in the patterns. Almost none of the stores selling beaded bags have them in plain colors. They are all created to form unique designs of florals, fruits, and even sardines, to name a few.
These special patterns, not typically seen on your average handbags, are what make these beaded bags so highly sought after for.
Beaded dresses have most popularly been seen with the brand Clio Peppiatt. This designer almost solely created beaded dresses and bags, and is highly successful with it. The London-based brand is known for its gorgeous and intricate embroidery and embellishments that make every product look absolutely elegant.

While these dresses and handbags are absolutely magnificent, they come at a very high cost. The Anthropologie Fiona Beaded Bag sells at $98, for all styles. The Clio Peppiatt price range is in the thousands, with the famous Midnight Dress costing around $3,000.
The high pricing associated with Clio Peppiatt is due to its requirement for intense handwork and high levels of craftsmanship to create the beaded designs. These make up the dresses. However, you are still able to find similar beaded dresses and accessories for a fraction of the price.

Affordability is especially important these days, as trends can last as short as a month. We all want to enjoy trendy items while they’re hot. So it’s helpful to note where you can find these beaded bags and dresses for a reasonable price.
Bags and accessories
One of the most popular places people have been searching for the beaded bags has been TJMaxx. The store has gone viral on TikTok for having a beaded sardine bag. It has been making people search multiple stores for it.
TJMaxx is especially a great place to look for these bags as it only costs roughly $30, being less than a third of the Fiona Bags. Even if you’re not a fan of the particular sardine design, the store has many other designs to choose from. All within the same price range, which you can get a slight glimpse of in the TikTok.
Another store to find these beaded bags is Lulus. While this brand sells the bags at a higher price than TJMaxx, between $50 and $60, they are still a great dupe to the Anthropologie bags.
Lulus has a wide range of floral and geometrical patterns that make up for the higher cost. Not only do they come in different patterns and colors, but they also come in many styles. So you’re almost guaranteed to find exactly what you’re looking for.

These are just a few notable stores that I’ve found to have a nice range of beaded dresses or bags. I’m sure that as the trend grows, so will the number of places with affordable options.
Is this it for summer 2025?
In my opinion, I see beaded fashion making a major comeback this summer. It’ll definitely make its mark as the trendy style, but I don’t think it’ll be temporary.
Beaded fashion is here to stay long term, and as you just read, it isn’t something that’s new. With its significance in so many cultures all around the world, dating many centuries back, the timeless elegance and luxury of beaded fashion won’t remain as just a trend.
