You’ve probably heard of someone eating paleo, keto, or whole 30. Perhaps you’ve even tried one of these diets out. But what about the ‘carnivore diet?’ Comedian and podcast host, Joe Rogan, reveals his secret to shedding weight while staying energetic thanks to his new diet plan.
In a podcast from last year, Joe Rogan stepped on a scale where he was told he weighed 205 lbs. He claimed that 205 was the “fattest he had ever been.” Rogan was clearly not happy with his body, saying, “I had a belly; a lot of people made fun of me, fat-shamed me.” So, for the past month, he decided to get his body back.
The 52-year-old comedian decided to stick to a strict diet for the last month. Known as the ‘carnivore diet,’ he exchanged fruit, vegetables, nuts, and grains for fish, meat, and any other animal products, such as eggs and most dairy products.
Though he himself thought this was a “wacky experiment”, the diet was deemed a success. Posting the results via an Instagram video, Rogan revealed his ripped new body.
So I did the carnivore diet for all of January, I lost 12 pounds, gained a tonne of energy – my energy levels were completely flat the whole month, no ups and downs from crashing after eating

Explaining the changes he noticed, he says, “I lost all my fat, I lost the belly, I lost my love handles.” Due to the strictness of the diet, Rogan is unaware if he will continue the ‘carnivore diet,’ but that “it was tremendously beneficial.”
According to a wordy Instagram caption, the only real problem that Rogan faced was some bowel issues leading him to have persistent diarrhea. Overall, he feels his health has drastically improved thanks to this plan.
