Thanksgiving is this Thursday and then Christmas will be right around the corner. Even though the holidays are pushed on us earlier from one year to the next, I am slowly starting to get into the holiday spirit. One thing that helps is watching some of my favorite Christmas movies, including Elf. One hotel in New York is giving Elf fans the perfect experience to be transported into their favorite movie.
According to Cameron Frew (unilad.co.uk) a Wyndham hotel in New York has designed one of their hotel suites to look exactly like Buddy’s Gimbels take over in the movie. The hotel is the “Club Wyndham Midtown 45 in Manhattan” (unilad.co.uk 1). The suite is decked out with “snowflakes hanging from the ceiling, presents all over the wall and, of course, as many sweet treats as one could desire” (unilad.co.uk 1). The hotel wants their guests to have the same jaw-dropping moment when they walk into the sweet that they had when they watched the movie.
Live In Buddy’s World For A Night
Inside the suite, there is also a “big, fully-decorated Christmas tree with a set of presents below waiting to be ripped open, along with toy trains and a giant nutcracker” (unilad.co.uk 2). They have also put in all the ingredients for Buddy’s famous spaghetti breakfast: “pasta, marshmallows, chocolate sauce, Pop-Tarts, cookie-dough rolls, M&Ms, and plenty of fizzy drinks” (unilad.co.uk 2). Now the question is will anyone actually make that dish and be able to eat it.
So How Much Is This Going To Set You Back?
This entire Elf-themed experience is not as pricey as you would think. The suite “prices starts at $399 and it sleeps four with a pull-out couch” (unilad.co.uk 2). Public bookings will be from December 2-20, and for Club Wyndham members only from December 21-26 (unilad.co.uk 2). For all of that, that seems quite reasonable. You would be a total cotton-headed ninny muggins if you missed out on this experience!
