The internet is yet again doing what it does best. No, no, not making memes or porn. Rumor has it that a new AI technology is being used to impose the faces of super famous celebrities into videos. Motherboard even reported that some Reddit users were using the AI to replace porn stars’ faces with celebrities’. Scary.
It didn’t take long for someone to use that same tech on Nicholas Cage. Yes, someone projected his face into movies that he’s not even in. Sounds like a dream come true, right?
Personally, I wouldn’t want to see the same actor in every movie I watch but hey, it’s a pretty creative way to show your ultimate fandom.
Nicolas Cage arriving at Sundance in a sparkling blue sheepskin jacket wearing a cowboy hat and holding a second cowboy hat in the event something happens to the cowboy hat he’s already wearing is the definition of self care.

The technology is called FakeApp, a software that uses algorithms and “deep-learning” to recreate someone’s face down to the most minute detail and then basically paste it into any video.
There are not many legal loopholes that can stop this so hopefully, no one takes it too far and uses it for reasons other than obsessive fandom.
