Driver on LSD thought he was playing Grand Theft Auto
Anthony Clark, 23, of Grant Pass, Oregon thought it was a great idea to steal a car right in front of 2 Jackson County deputies while off his nut on LSD. The officers were waiting to tow a 2003 Toyota Camry after it was involved in an unrelated DUI incident.
Clark leapt into the car at around 8:25pm last Saturday and dodged an Oregon State Police trooper that attempted to stop him as he sped off toward Ashland along Highway 66 beginning the 40-mile chase.
The sheriff’s department reported that during the chase Clark had crashed through chain link fences, ran over two sets of spike strips and drove the wrong way down several roads. After several attempts, a patrol car managed to bump the rear of the Toyota Camry and cause Clark to spin out in Medford.

Despite being stopped Clark continued the pursuit on foot into a nearby trailer park where he was finally arrested while attempting to steal a second car. Nobody was hurt during the chase.
Later, during the Police interview Clark admitted to being on the hallucinogenic drug LSD which led him to believe that he was playing the video game Grand Theft Auto and couldn’t differentiate between the game and reality.
Grand Theft Auto is one of the biggest selling gaming franchises on the planet and is synonymous with allowing its players to commit all sorts of crimes that would have you locked up immediately if you committed them in the real world.

If you’re not familiar with the franchise then I hope you and your 10 cats have made a wonderful home full of lovely antiques and bric-a-brac under that giant rock you’ve been living under. As the name suggests one of the primary gameplay mechanics of GTA allows you to steal pretty much any vehicle you come across.
Clark has now been charged of multiple offences. Attempting to elude an officer in a vehicle, attempting to elude an officer on foot, driving under the influence of intoxicants, unauthorized use of a vehicle, reckless driving, first-degree criminal mischief, second-degree criminal trespass and reckless endangering another person by the 3 law enforcement agencies that were involved in the chase.
All that and he didn’t even get the ‘Three-man army’ achievement/trophy for evading cops for at least 3 minutes on a 5-star wanted level or (luckily for him), kill any prostitutes.
Let us know what you think of this idiot in the comments below. Did you read about this?…..
