Reel or real?

Via Twitter, the CIA revealed the true events behind the 2012 thriller, Argo. The film portrayed the “true” story of a famous CIA operation back in 1979. The CIA tried to bring back six US diplomats from Iran after their embassy was taken over. However, like a lot of movies based on true events, the truth gets twisted and distorted for entertainment purposes. According to the CIA it wasn’t a total gun-blazing situation, although one American did sleep on the floor for awhile before making his way to the Canadian Ambassador’s home. Talk about thrill-seeking.

The CIA picks a part the movie piece by piece, stating what’s real and what’s reel. There’s a reason why the truth isn’t always shown on the big screens, because it’s kind of boring.

A lot of the stuff in the movie was made up. Although it does keep viewers on the edge of their seats. Who would want to watch a movie about a bunch of people hiding out in a Canadian embassy? It must have been uncomfortable for the one guy sleeping on the floor at first, but definitely nothing worth filming. Kudos to Ben Affleck for making something boring into an exciting presentation. Be sure to check out the CIA’s twitter for more reel and real information on Argo.

Lastly, check out this strange film about sushi. It’s definitely weird, very weird. It’s loosely based on sushi, but mostly flailing white bodies.
