Why The Witcher should have a Christmas episode

The Witcher is famous for a lot of things. Sword fights, Monsters, Grumpy Geralt, Singing Jaskier, Powerful Yennefer. But it’s not exactly known for Christmas. But it deserves a Christmas-y episode.

Firstly, each season of Witcher so far has premiered in December. The first season premiered in December 2019, and the second arrived in December 2021. Season 2 also featured plenty of snow.

Secondly, there is no better way to bring together the found family than Geralt, Jaskier, Yennefer, and Ciri.

Think about Geralt getting Yennefer a present, Ciri getting Geralt a present, and Jaskier mocking Geralt for letting a single tear slip. The fans need this, and they must make our fanfiction dreams come true for at least one episode.

But while we speak of Christmas, the winter holiday they celebrate can be any fantasy holiday the writers create. The Witcher world doesn’t exactly look like one that screams Santa and Rudolph, and it can be a holiday celebrating the Law of Surprise, assuming that’s what brought Ciri and Geralt together.

But It would also be nice to see these characters get a break from war, struggle, and death. An hour-long episode where they have a little downtime, and maybe they fight off an evil reindeer monster that would give the audience some relief before we return to the battles and terror of The Witcher world.
