The Shawshank Redemption was voted the best movie of all time based on a poll conducted by LadBible.

After conducting a poll online, Ladbible found that The Shawshank Redemption was voted best movie of all time.

Of course, these numbers are not based on scientific fact, but by the magazine’s followers and subscribers.

There were four movies selected based on their high ranking on IMbd and The Shawshank Redemption took number one for the people who participated in the poll.

The Shawshank Redemption was alongside films like Christopher Nolan’s classic superhero flick The Dark Knight – starring Christian Bale and Heath Ledger, and of course the classic Godfather I & II.

47.4 percent of people voted for The Shawshank Redemption, and The Dark Knight was a closed second at 33.9 percent.

The Godfather films were voted third and fourth at 11.2 percent and 7.4 percent.

The 1994 film, stars Morgan Freeman and Tim Robbins as two inmates who spark a friendship while in prison in The Shawshank Redemption.

The film was originally based on a novel by Stephen King and was nominated in seven categories, yet it won no Academy Awards.
