Jeffrey Dahmer is considered one of America’s most notorious serial killers. Between 1978 and 1991, he committed multiple murders and dismemberment of young men and boys. What Netflix’s Monster: the Jeffrey Dahmer Story is about highlights decades of these atrocious crimes while going unnoticed by the police.
Dahmer met and murdered many of his victims at a bar called Club 219. He would converse with them, dance with them, and then invite them back to his apartment to drink beer and take pictures. His murders took place in his apartment.
In Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, the apartment building where Dahmer lived and lured his victims was called the Oxford Apartments. After watching the limited series, you might wonder if Oxford Apartments is a real place. Fortunately, we know the answer and shared it below!
Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story: Is the Oxford Apartments a real place?
The real Oxford Apartments in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, was a complex fashioned to be an elaborate set for the show. The show depicted a serial killer named Dahmer living in this same complex and committing heinous crimes against his victims in Apartment 213.
After Dahmer was captured and arrested in 1991, the Oxford Apartments were torn down in 1992. The area is now an abandoned lot surrounded by a fence with weeds. Plans to turn the area into a memorial or playground have fallen through.
