Avatar was released over a decade ago, but enthusiasm for the sequel has never wavered. The hotly anticipated James Cameron-directed production will finally arrive at the theatres on Friday, December 16th.

The highly-awaited sequel will have actors like Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Stephen Lang, Giovanni Ribisi, Joel David Moore, Dileep Rao, CCH Pounder, and Matt Gerald.

Two fresh additions are stars Kate Winslet and Vin Diesel. Winslet will play the role of Ronal, a free diver of the Metkayina, and Vin Diesel will play CJ Jones in an undisclosed role.

What is Avatar 2 about?

Avatar 2, or Avatar: The Way of Water, “will once again take place in Pandora. Jake Sully (Worthington) lives there with his family, Neytiri (Saldana), and their three children. The couple has to work with the army of the Na’vi in a race to protect their planet from a familiar threat who has returned, according to the logline”, according to logline.

The trailer shows us the beautiful world that is incredibly pleasing on the eye and allows us to take a look at Jake’s children. It also shows some of the struggles that the family will face.

One more piece of good news is that three other sequels are already in the works. Each subsequent film will be released two years after the previous one in 2024, 2026, and 2028, respectively.
