WATCH: Nirvana’s “About A Girl” Cover By Puddle Of Mudd Goes Viral And Gets Destroyed

What the hell was that?

Recently, a video of the rock band ‘Puddle Of Mudd’, covering Nirvana’s ‘About A Girl’, started getting attention and then went viral in the matter of a couple of days, but not even remotely for the right reasons.

Back in January, the band covered Nirvana’s well-known, fan-favorite song ‘About A Girl”, and performed an acoustic version of it on the SiriusXM YouTube channel. It didn’t seem to capture that much attention when it was first posted, not until a few days ago, where the internet discovered the video and went absolutely bonkers on it.

Comments under the video were quick to point out band frontman Wes Scantlin’s off-key performance, saying it had to be a troll seeing how utterly horrible it was.

Watch the video for yourself and see if you agree:

The best part of this video is the hilarious comments that people left, not even bothering to hold back.

Someone said and I quote: “ He sounds like Krusty the Clown from the Simpsons trying to pass a kidney stone”. I mean, how does someone even come up with that?

Check out the rest of the comments, because trust me, you will not be disappointed.

It is no secret that from the start of Puddle of Mudd’s musical career, singer Wes Scantlin was influenced by Nirvana and always drew comparisons to Kurt Cobain, whether with his looks or his voice. But unfortunately, this one just didn’t seem to resonate that well with people.

Watch the original song performed by Nirvana:

As to date, the cover video has been viewed more than 1.1 million times, and the likes (2.5K) to dislikes (17K)  ratio speaks for itself.

While it’s all fun and games, let’s not forget that everyone has bad days, and maybe, just maybe, Scantlin wasn’t having such good luck with his vocals that day.

Onto more positive news, read here how Rob Lowe may make an adaptation of the new hit TV series, Tiger King.
