Yes, it’s what you’ve been waiting for! One lucky producer just acquired the rights to create a movie about David Bowie’s life. And you know how much you love biopics.
Apparently, there was a lottery to see which production company would get the honor of making the movie about David Bowie, called Stardust, and a small British production named Fil Constellation won. They don’t plan to follow the usual biopic format. Instead of tracing Bowie’s rise to fame, they will be focusing on his first tour that he did in the U.S. back in 1971. It was on this tour that Bowie created the character Ziggy Stardust, and evoked his love for his country.
Production for the anticipated biopic will begin in June, and young actor and singer Johnny Flynn will have the honor of playing David Bowie in the movie. As of right now, Jena Malone and Marc Maron will also star alongside Flynn. Gabriel Range, the director behind I Am Slave, will be directing Stardust.
