There’ll Soon Be a Peaky Blinders Video Game to Get You Through Lockdown

Peaky Blinders gets new video game adaptation!

If you’ve been binging shows on Netflix you’ve probably come across Peaky Blinder, maybe you’ve even watched all five seasons. If the show interested you or if you’re just trying to find a new way to kill time, a game based on the show is set to be released to PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch this summer.

Recently, the creators of the game released a first look at it. This detailed the playable characters and demonstrated various aspects of the gameplay.

The game is being marketed as a top-down puzzle game. The interesting twist is that you, the player, are tasked with controlling each of the 7 playable characters near simultaneously to complete different missions.

Here’s the trailer:

From the video, it appears each character will have specific traits or special abilities that allow the player to try out a wide number of different methods to complete levels. It also allows the player to rewind certain aspects to get the timing of certain actions just right to avoid being caught.

For fans of the show the game may be a fun way to pass time as we remain indoors due to social distancing and shelter-in-place orders. However, it would seem that many aren’t excited as one viewer commented, “This looks like the kind of game you play for 15m then never play again.” This may be true for a some but this format also hearkens back to games like those in the Commandos series, which had a large following in its time and still brings in new players

Overall this looks like a good way to pass the time if you like puzzles and trying alternate methods to either beat your past time or just to explore the options available to you. Unfortunately you won’t be able to play the game for a while but you can prepare for it by binging all of Peaky Blinders while you wait.
