Now we have entered October, it is officially acceptable to start our scary movie marathons. Netflix has just announced that a whole range of spooky films will be arriving on their platform to get you in the mood for Halloween!

As the weather has to started to become more dreary, we can tell that summer is well and truly over. However, do not worry because we still have a lot to look forward to. It is finally the season where we can think about carving pumpkins, making our houses look spooky and watching the scariest Halloween films!

It is also the month where we can start wrapping up in blankets and having a cosy night in with a takeaway whilst we watch films. If you are like me, then you have probably already watched 60-70% of what’s currently on Netflix through the chaos we had last year! But this is completely fine because Netflix has a solution for this…

Netflix is making sure users in the UK and Ireland will have no shortage of fitting entertainment. Viewers will be able to get truly stuck in to the scary festivities with the addition of five Halloween movies.

What films will we be seeing on our screens for Halloween?

John Carpenter’s 1978 classic horror Halloween will be making an appearance on our TVs. This ultimate slasher is not for the faint hearted and it will definitely keep you up at night. If you are wanting something dark and gruesome then this is the one for you!

However, not all of us like things to be too scary. Netflix has taken this into consideration and they have also included something a bit more light-hearted. You could go for 1993 black comedy Addam’s Family Values or Shaun of the Dead. How do you feel about watching a town being taken over by zombies?

In addition, Netflix is also adding Shutter Island, which features Leonardo DiCaprio. Alternatively, you could opt for the drama Contagion, which is very interesting because it focuses on the discovery of a deadly virus and how it leads to worldwide panic. Finally, Netflix is also including crime drama Carlito’s Way, so you have plenty of genres to choose from!

More light-hearted entertainment…

For those of you who just want to enjoy a range of different films, you’ll find that Netflix is also catering to your needs! Soon you will find Clueless, The Amazing Spider-Man, Fight Club, Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me and The First Wives Club on your screens. What will you watch first?

So for your next film night, will you be going for a scary movie? I know I will definitely be arranging to watch the 1978 Halloween film with my friends at the weekend. Once we’ve had our share of horror and gore, then we’ll be able to start focusing on the next big thing… Christmas films!
