This Tuesday Uber announced the alcohol delivery service Drizly is expected to form part of the Uber Eats app acquired in a $1.1 billion deal.

The deal, a combination of stocks and cash, will integrate Drizly’s marketplace with Uber Eats and turn the delivery service into an owned subsidiary of the company.

Uber sets out to incorporate Drizly in its delivery service, meanwhile keeping the company’s app running as usual.

Drizly, founded in 2012 with headquarters in Boston, MA, makes the purchase and delivery of alcohol a breeze.

In three simple steps, customers are delivered their drinks at their desired location. The process involves inputting your address, picking your drinks and a store near you, and finally, they will get delivered in under 60 minutes.

In a statement, Uber explains Drizly customers will enjoy the benefits of its reward and subscription programs.

Drizly’s co-founder and chief executive Cory Rellas expressed that they “are thrilled to join a world-class Uber team whose platform will accelerate Drizly on its mission to be there when it matters-committed to life’s moments and the people who create them.”
